Republican debate
Yesterday was the first republican debate on TV. From a swedes perspective it was very interesting on how politicians in the US are focusing on very different things than the Swedish politicians. This debate was also interesting as Donald Trump is the front runner for the republican party. Whatever you think of the man and his ideas, he is different, and he is not afraid to show it.
Some things that I thought were really strange, was the emphasism on religion and God that was set by the moderators and the participants. USA is supposed to be made up of people from all beliefs and backgrounds, but watching the debate you could get the idea that they were running for a minister position instead of President of the United States.
Another thing is the hatred they are portraying towards the sitting President and their opponent(s). When asked what their first act in office would be, they all answered to undo everything the last President had done. Is it not better that they try to focus on the future and improvements, instead of being destructive?
However I do like the passion some showed and which is lacking in the Swedish politicians.
It is now 15 more months before the election, and it is going to be some interesting months.
