Washington D.C.

George Washington Monument.

White House.
Once again I have visited the capital of the USA. It is definately one of my favourite and most impressive cities in the world. The weather was great and we got to see all the big monuments and sites. Unfortunately we were about 7-10 days early to see all the cherry trees in full bloom, which is something extraordinary, but we'll catch it next time. This time we took a Hop-on Hop-off tour, which were very good, but it took a lot of time, due to heavy traffic. Next time we will rent bikes instead, and avoid all the traffic jams.
The hotel was located in the Foggy-Bottom area, right in the middle of George Washington University, and surrounded by fraternity houses. The fraternity houses looked amazing, and one felt a little bit jealous of the students here, they seemed to have a great life.
Friday we went to the Filomena restaurant in Georgetown, excellent restaurant with enormous portions, which were impossible to finish, but that did not matter at all since we then didn't have to plan for dinner the day after..😜
After dinner we had some drinks in an irish bar in Georgetown, all and all it was a perfect evening.
Saturday was first spent at Arlington, which is a beautiful but gripping place. Then at the Capital, were the police seemed to be looking for a bomb or something, the bomb squad was there and a parking lot was closed off, with lots of police. Probably some Congressman who had left his gym bag by the car, but you never know.....

Arlington.
I also managed to rub Einsteins nose, which they say should make you inteligent, so I am keeping my fingers crossed..

Please make me smart!
I promise it won't be long before I am back, both to get some more intelligence but also since it is such a great city!
