Nashville Opryland - Home of Country Music...?
Last week I went to Nashville for a convention. I stayed at one of the biggest Hotels/Convention Centers I have ever seen. It was huge!!! Besides all the hotel rooms, they had a market square, waterfalls, restaurants, gardens and even a little boat you could ride, and everything was of course indoors.
Right next to the Convention center was apparently (I didn't know I had to ask my colleagues) the most famous stage for Country Music, Grand Ole Opry (www.opry.com). If you play Country Music and get invited to perform on that stage, you have made it in this genre. All famous Country Music performers, Dolly Parton, Johnny Cash etc. have of course performed there.
Besides the Convention Center and the outside of the Grand Ole Opry, I didn't see much of the city unfortunately. Hopefully next time I'll have some more time, and visit the downtown of Nashville.
